This is a fine wood churinga from Australia's Central Desert region. The design is classic for the area with several concentric circle motifs linked by bent parallel lines. The churinga has a very thick and glossy patina of red ochre from generations of ceremonial use. The piece is good sized at 27 ¼", dates to the late 19th century and sells for $2500. Questions?
