Oceanic Art - Image Enlargement
Fine and old Western Australia wood churinga with intricate interlocking key design superimposed with fine diagonal lines in relief. There is a small hole (now broken through) at one end that might suggest this piece being used as a bullroarer but I think this is doubtful because of its relatively large size. The piece has an aged brown patina, is 27 7/8" in height, dates to pre-1920 and sells for $2400. Questions?
