Oceanic Art - Image Enlargement
This is a classic Coastal Sepik drum from the Schouten Islands that lie off of New Guinea’s north coast. It has two long-nose ancestral faces on the handle and an overall thick, black, aged patina. Notice a couple old medical tape fragments on the bottom end used as a native repair on a couple small cracks at the base. The drum is at least 100 years old, is 22" in height. sold
