This is a fine pre-contact, stone-carved Abelam figure from the eastern border with the area known as West Yangoru. Thus the figure has the coffee bean shaped eyes found on Yangoru sculpture but rarely with the Abelam. There is obvious erosion to the piece but it is strong and stable with nice remains of red and yellow pigments. The figure is 56 ½" in height, is pre-1920. The price is available upon request.
