I think most of you now can recognize the age and quality of this southern Abelam coiled cane yam mask. It is tightly constructed, has layers of pigments—some trade—and has a wonderfully, true, dark and glossy aged patina on the reverse. This is an old yam mask. It dates to the early 20th century, is 18 ¾” (47.5 cm) in height and sells for $1600. Questions?
