The hand drums coming from the remote Finisterre Mountains of Morobe Province are distinct in shape and form. This tiny, exquisite example is classic for the area. It has a large flared top, a comfortable loop handle and a relatively small, abbreviated bottom section. The patina is superb. The drum is illustrated in my latest catalog as fig. 93, dates to the late 19th/early 20th century, is 12” (30.4 cm) in height and sells for $2500. Questions?
