I have only encountered a small group of similar figures as this from the Southern Abelam area known as the Wosera. Composed as an intricate openwork panel the figure has two faces above a single body and a spade-shape unpainted base. While brightly painted this is an old sculpture as evidenced by the scooped-out reverse with dark aged patina. The piece comes from the Saint Louis Art Museum (136:1975) and was originally owned by Morton May. The figure dates to the early/mid 20th century, is 67 ¼” (171.0 cm) in height and sells for $7500.
