I originally field collected this old Boiken mask many years ago. It has classic domed forehead bisected by a medial ridge, deep set oval eyes and a sharp beak nose. There is a stylized bird or animal form at the top with remains of fiber attached. Overall the red pigment surface is thick and layered. The adzing is prominent consistent with an older mask and the expression is archaic and menacing. The piece dates to the early 20th century, is 24 ¼” (61.5 cm) in height and the price is available upon request. Questions?
