It has been a very long time since I have had such a large, thick and beautiful Boiken clam shell currency ring such as this. As you all know these rings are used primarily as bride price—even today—throughout the Abelam and Boiken areas. The Boiken rings are renowned for their thickness. This is a beautiful and ancient example with smooth rounded surfaces and a decorative band of nassa shells. It dates to the 19th century or before, is 9 ¾” (24.8 cm) in diameter and the price is $3600. Questions?
