This club is a classic “napa” example from Santa Cruz Island of the Solomon Islands. I particularly like this one for its dark aged patina. It has the classic curved canoe shape overall highlighted by two triangular heads carved in relief. The black painted design is intact but less stark against this dark patinated background. The grip shows good age and wear—which is not always the case…And as always there is a longitudinal crack on the offside. I have had a number of these napa clubs and 100% have longitudinal cracks for some reason—thankfully this one the crack comes up in a discreet place on the back. The club is 37 1/2” (95.2 cm) in height, dates to the late 19th century and sells for $2400. Questions?
